Hypothesis: A Poorly Hidden Secret
While researching the Racle house, I discovered that it once belonged to Canon Pierre Philibert Guichelet. If I have understood correctly, it was Léonard Racle who built the house.
I found architectural plans. While reading them, I noticed a hidden space within one of the walls.
Was the canon aware of it?
Transcription of Racle’s journal:
June 1785
“This morning, Guichelet came to see me and asked me to build him a fireproof house. This request could not have come at a better time; it might be the perfect place to hide my secret.”
Note: Was the box that Poisat’s worker found in this house the canon’s? Or did it belong to Racle?
